Parkrun is a free, weekly 5km event held in parks across the world every Saturday morning at 9am. Open to everyone, Parkrun welcomes runners, joggers, and walkers of all abilities. You don’t have to run — many people choose to walk, bring their dog, or simply enjoy the community atmosphere.

The events are marshalled and organised by a dedicated team of volunteers who share a passion for fitness and inclusivity. While there is naturally a competitive element for some participants, Parkrun is first and foremost a supportive and friendly environment. Whether you're looking to test your 5km time on a measured course and receive an official result, or simply want to get outside, move your body, and grab a post-run coffee with others, Parkrun is a fantastic way to be part of a welcoming community.

Parkrun started back in 2004 when Paul Sinton-Hewitt invited 13 runners to a free, timed 5K in London’s Bushy Park. What began as a small community event quickly grew into a global movement. Today, there are over 2,500 Parkruns across 23 countries, with millions of people taking part. The beauty of Parkrun is that it’s stayed true to its original purpose—bringing people together to move, connect, and have fun. To find out more, click below to head over to the Parkrun homepage.
